As Catherine found out, growing up as a psychic and medium certainly came with its challenges. In the early years, Catherine thought everyone could see and sense what she did. It was only as she got older, she realised that not everyone could. Quickly she learned to keep her experiences a secret in case others would not understand. Not being able to communicate to others what she was experiencing coupled with not being able to understand what was happening herself, meant that her psychic abilities became quite a worry for her. It wasn't until she reached the age of nineteen that she mustered up the courage to tackle the "issue" head on and try to understand and learn about what it meant to be a psychic and medium.

There are so many children around the country today that are going through the same experiences Catherine went through as a child. They don't understand what is happening and are afraid to tell their family and friends about them. In the U.S. it has been proven that psychic children are often wrongly diagnosed with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) or ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and are prescribed the drug Ritalin as treatment. Lots of these children, exposed to this drug at such an early age, turn to recreational drugs and alcohol in their teenage years to help block out their psychic abilities because they never learned how to deal with them. Sadly, in some cases they even end up taking their own lives.

Catherine now works with psychic children and their parents to help them learn about psychic and medium abilities. The first time Catherine helped a psychic child was when she met Molly and her mother Sandra. Since Molly was a baby strange occurances would happen around her because as a psychic, she was attracting spirit activity. Being her mother, Sandra was very concerned for Molly because at the age of eight, her daughter was not sleeping at night and could be heard talking in her bedroom until the early hours of the morning. Molly was a quiet child and while she had a few close friends, she chose to spend quite a bit of time on her own. Sandra also said that Molly told her she would often talk to her granddad that had passed a few years earlier. During the meeting with Molly and Sandra, Catherine asked Molly about her experiences, explained them to her and why they were occurring. Once Molly realised that she was not alone and that she has an amazing gift, her change of thought gave her a huge sense of relief and a renewed self confidence and happiness within herself. She has since made new friends, is sleeping at night and is more readily sharing her experiences with family and friends. Catherine is so grateful to Sandra and Molly for putting their trust in her and for allowing her to help them. It is because of Sandra and Molly that Catherine found the confidence to advertise help for other psychic children and their parents.

All babies, toddlers and children up to the age of five (or sometimes the age of seven depending on the child's environment) see angels and spirits around them on a daily basis. Once they become older, they are influenced by the beliefs of their family and friends and the part of their brain that is responsible for the experiences, shuts down. For psychic children however, this part of their brain never shuts down and their abilities are carried with them from birth until death. Their psychic gift is part of them just as much as the colour of their eyes or their individual personality. The secret for them is to learn how to be comfortable with their gift from an early age.
